Houston Office
Our main office is located in the Houston, Texas area. The Houston office is managed by Thomas Powell (pictured left), President and Executive General Adjuster.Thomas “Tom” Powell is the founding member of BPO Technical Services, LLC in addition to the manager of the Houston Office. He is also an Executive General Adjuster. Tom’s insurance career started out on the company side of the claims industry, receiving his initial training and experience with the Tennessee Farmers Mutual Insurance Company, the adjusting arm of the Tennessee Farm Bureau. While with Tennessee Farmers, Mr. Powell specialized in property claims adjusting. After several years with Tennessee Farmers, Tom began to work with a small independent adjusting company in Jackson, Tennessee, and soon thereafter joined Crawford & Company. Crawford is the largest independent adjusting company in the world. During the 24 plus years with Crawford, Tom Powell garnered a great reputation, moving up through the ranks from Property Adjuster to Property General Adjuster, Property Supervisor, Unit Manager, Branch Manager, and to Executive General Adjuster. For many years, he handled a dual roll as Branch Manager of one of the largest and most successful branches within Crawford, as well as serving clients that needed the expertise of an Executive General Adjuster. Mr. Powell has handled all types of commercial property claims, and currently handles and manages several large national commercial property accounts. Tom Powell, a native Tennessean, resides in Houston with his wife and three children. He is a member of the Houston Claims Association and an associate member of the Texas Surplus Lines Association, Inc.

- Thirty-one (31) years in claims with extensive experience in commercial property claims.
- Twenty (20) years in management of property claims and casualty claims.
- Supervisor for many major national commercial property accounts entailing investigation, audit and adjustment of major commercial losses including elements of physical damage, business personal property, business interruption, increased cost evaluations and extra expense.
- Knowledgeable in supervising and handling energy claims as well as poultry/equine/livestock claims.
- Extensive knowledge of arson, fraud, cause and origin (C & O) and business interruption (BI) in property claims.
- Serves as Appraiser and Umpire for the insurance industry.
- Experience in damage assessment and estimating losses for commercial television and cable operations.
- Experience in adjusting and supervising general liability (GL), utility claims, marine surveys and cargo losses.
